2016 TOPICS

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE GOES MOBILE

The latest great step in artificial intelligence is affective computing, tools that enable machines to measure, interpret and simulate human emotions.

On 29 November, we count iwth the participation of leading companies of the sector like Microsoft and IBM, which explained how users can hold conversations with their respective personal assistants Cortana or Watson in a good current example of this technology.

A second session about artificial intelligence on 30 November focus on applying this technology to different spheres, like the automotive sector, the construction sector or the defense from cyberatcks.

DRONES & MOBILITY

The number of drones and their applications have grown exponentially in recent years. This implies a challenge from several points of view: regulation, technology, marketing and training. However, how does drone technology help companies and society?

In this edition, we will discuss real cases and/or innovative leading projects that are being developed in various spheres of daily life. These include ARSI, which uses this technology to conduct autonomous inspections of the Barcelona sewerage system, ICARUS, where a fleet of robots helps troops to conduct search and rescue operations during natural disasters and the application created by HEMAV for agriculture, generating aerial maps that are vital in decision-making. By MDRONE we will see aplications in the field of the industrial sector, especially the power in line inspections, and finally, CATUAV showed us the need for drone testing centres to promote this technology.

GAMING TRENDS

The videogame industry has grown in leaps and bounds in recent years and videogames have become cultural achievements in their own right.

This session featured Rafael Laguna, a game developer. He told us about the current situation and evolution of the videogame industry, what it can offer and how mobile games may improve marketing and sales strategies and relationships with workers.

We also hear about the experience of Simon Lee as the founder of Game BCN, the first incubator specialised in videogames in southern Europe and Eurecat talked about virtual reality as an immersive experience for videogames that combines audio and video.
